Patriotic Candy Holder ... QKD

Panda Prince here again from Queen Kat Design. This time he is getting ready for the 4th of July. I think he is so cute all done up in the red, white and blue.

I used 3 embossing folders, the stars celebration one (blue) from Sizzix, distressed stripes (red), and white stars were embossed and then cut out.  Distressed ink of Fired brick and frosted glass(??).

The box is a 2,4,6,8 box. It is 8.5 wide and how ever tall you want it with 2” for the bottom. I score the bottom at 2”. then I turn it so we are scoring along the 8.5” edge. We score at 2,4,6,8 leaving the .5 to glue to make the box around. Now to cut and fold. On the 2” bottom piece cut up the that line at the 2, 4, 6, 8, scores and cut off the .5 piece left at the 2” line. Fold all the scores and then glue the .5” to the other side to make a square tube. Then glue the bottom up in place. Do the decorating before or after but it is easier if you do it before.
My box is about 4.75” tall So all my blue pieces are cut at 1.75 by 4.75 then tore of a smig on the top, you need 4. The red band is about 2” wide by about 8.5" or 9” so you can wrap it around and glue it together. I tied the ribbon around the band. Then I pop dotted the Panda Prince and glued on the stars.

This was a fun little project. It would be great to have for each of your guest. They could be great place holders with names on them.  He was made for my FB post for my QKD requirement.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today. I hope he inspires you to make one yourself. May God bless you greatly today and you have a joyous day. Thank you for stopping by.

Thank You, Ursula. I try to join in but some times there just isn’t enough hours in the days. Besides red, white & blue is one of my favorite color combos. I love the 4th of July for just that reason.

So cute and functional too. Great job.
Thanks for playing at The Outlawz 2000 Member party. Did you hear that we are extending the party for another week? That means more time to complete the challenges. Not only that, but a SCACD $50.00 Gift Certificate is going to the member who enters the most challenges. Happy partying. :)
Blessing hugs,
Teresa
